This artwork represents the story of "Leda" who is a myth from Greek mythology. In the story, Leda was a mortal queen of Sparta. One day, the god Zeus, in the form of a swan, approached Leda. As a result of their encounter, Leda laid two eggs. From these eggs, two sets of twins were born. One egg hatched into Helen and Clytemnestra. Helen would later become the famous Helen of Troy, whose beauty sparked the Trojan War. The other egg hatched into Castor and Pollux, who were known as the Dioscuri, and they were revered as protectors of sailors and warriors.

The myth of Leda highlights the theme of divine interactions with mortals and the resulting consequences in Greek mythology.
